Is Donald Trump the new Obama?
For the better part of the last 8 years Republicans have been complaining about the lack of authenticity of Barrack Obama.
He says he is a Christian, but doesn't act like it.
He says he isn't a socialist, but doesn't act like it.
He says he loves America...but doesn't act like it.
Republicans were frustrated during his initial election because he had a very telling background, but the people voting for him didn't seem to care or even want to investigate it.
He had, through most of his life, been involved with radicals and Alinskyites pushing for Americas demise.
All his followers seemed to understand about him was Hope and Change.
And it infuriated Republicans.
Now, we are experiencing a similar scenario on the Republican side.
The Donald.
He has drawn large crowds, reminiscent of those of his potential predecessor 8 years ago and like his potential predecessor his campaign is vague but this time much more brash.
Trump has been a public figure for more than 30 years and it is not difficult to understand where he has stood politically over that time due to the vast amount of media available.
It is easy to say that prior to running for office as a Republican, Trump has been anything but.
He was friends with the Clintons and publicly supported their campaigns. He spoke about how he was "very pro-choice," and even supported Obamacare.
Suddenly he is running about with a Bible, a gun, and a pro-life stance.
My fear, is that Trump evaluated the political climate, understood that the likely next president would be Republican, and decided to say whatever he thought would get him into office.
He is simply taken the typical conservative stance and has turned it into a caricature of a Republican. I think that early on he realized that the more outrageous he got the higher his numbers would rise.
Politics is a game of smoke and mirrors anyway, but to ignore decades of evidence is foolhardy.
As a Christian, the toughest pill for me to swallow is the obvious fact that he has manufactured Christian beliefs.
I do not know what is in his heart, and I hope he is sincere, but the evidence states otherwise.
A Christian changed by the grace of God would never say that he doesn't need to repent. Without repenting, there is no grace.
Matthew 4:17
From that time on Jesus began to preach, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
It's time for a Revival-lution!
